Giant incense stick lit to offer prayers for Team India

A six-feet-tall incense stick was lit at the Rathina Vinayagar Temple at R.S. Puram, on Thursday, to offer prayers for the victory of the Indian team in the ongoing World Cup Cricket tournament, at Australia and New Zealand.

It is part of Mega Agarbathi ‘Pray for India’ campaign organised by Cycle Pure Agarbathies, at 80 cities across the country. Managing director of Arya Vaidya Pharmacy, Coimbatore, P.R. Krishna Kumar launched the campaign in the city.

An autorickshaw with a plain white flex banner will move around the city for cricket enthusiasts to write their prayer for the team.

Incense sticks will also be distributed free of cost to the fans to offer prayers at home.

Every day, the vehicle signature prayer campaign will end with the lighting of a mega incense stick.

Organisers said that a similar campaign was carried out by them during the World Cup in 2011.
